Jaya Judy Seeley, LMT-C, CYI, Executive Director & Registrar

Jaya Seeley, Natural Health InstituteA licensed massage therapist since 1985, is nationally certified, and the founding director of Natural Health Institute (in Nashvile), Natural Health Institute of Bowling Green (Kentucky), and the founder of Cumberland Institute for Wellness Education. As a practicing therapist, Traditional Reiki Teacher (1986), Kripalu Certified Yoga Teacher (1994), and Certified Infant Massage Instructor (1990), and a past member of the Kentucky Massage Therapy Board, Jaya Judy brings over 20 years of teaching experience with compassion and professionalism. Jaya has been a leader in massage and bodywork since 1985.

 

Daniel Seeley, RN, MSN, FNP, CMT, Institutional Director

Daniel Seeley, RN, MSN, FNP, CMTFamily Nurse Practitioner (Vanderbilt, 1989), Certified Massage Therapist (Ozark Life Center, 1987) and Reiki Teacher (Traditional, 1986), Natural Health Institute of Bowling Green. He was a co-founder of the Cumberland Institute for Wellness Education in 1987. In his Nurse Practitioner career in the Emergency Room, private medical clinics and the public health department, he has prescribed and treated with modern medicines and complimentary therapies.

 

Lewis Braswell, BA, LMT, Instructor

Lew is a graduate of Natural Health Institute who specializes in Connective Tissue work and Vibrational Therapies. He graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and continues to study Structured Integration.

 

Cameron Davi, LMT, NMT, NCBTMB, Instructor

Cameron’s practice focuses on holistic awareness and chronic pain treatment. His proficiencies include Thai Yoga Massage, Hawaiian Temple style Lomi Lomi and Neuromuscular Therapy certification. Cameron is a graduate of Dr. Jay Scherer’s Academy of Natural Healing in Santa Fe, NM and is nationally certified by the NCBTMB. His seven years of active professional practice supports the depth of knowledge he brings to the classroom.

 

Mary Glesige, BS, LMT, CCHT, Instructor

Mary has been practicing in the holistic health field for over 15 years. In August of 2001, she graduated from the Natural Health Institute as a massage therapist. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University, and is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Yoga Instructor. In 2004, she became a Reiki Master. She has also studied Healing Touch, macrobiotic vegetarianism, and the ancient concepts of Ayurveda.

 

Mary K. Harlow, B.S., M.S, Instructor

Mary joins the staff at NHI with over 17 years experience in Massage Therapy and Personal Training. She holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and an M.S. in Clinical Neurophysiology. She has 14 years of experience in the operating room as a neurophysiologist. With her numerous certifications, Mary’s diverse education and professional experience will be an asset to all students.

 

Jon Mandeville, M.A., M.Ed., Instructor

Thai MassageJon has studied at the Wat Pho Thai Traditional Medical School in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as, the Old Medicine Hospital School (Foundation of Dr. Shivagakomarpaj) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He has studied with several senior teachers from Asokananda’s Sunshine Network and has served as a teacher assistant in the Lahu tribal village in northern Thailand. In addition, Jon has studied with Khun Nut, a blind practitioner trained by the Thailand Caulfield Foundation for the Blind, and most recently, with Master Pichest Boonthumme at his residence in Hang Dong, Thailand.

Jon is a certified practitioner and continuing education Approved Provider with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). He is also a licensed massage therapist (LMT) in the state of Tennessee.

Carol Martin, BA, LMT, Instructor

Carol Martin graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and received her Teacher's Certificate from the Tennessee Board of Education. She has extensive education and experience in a wide range of applications in the holistic field and balances a very successful private massage practice with her career as a reknowned instructor of Reflexology, Touch for Health, Meditation, Yoga, and much more.

 

Karen Sky Miller, LMT-C, D.Ay, NCBTMB, Instructor

Karen is nationally certified, has been practicing as a licensed massage therapist since 1987. Karen was certified in Neuromuscular Therapy by the Atlanta Neuromuscular Therapy Training Center in 1992. She holds a diploma as an Ayurvedic practitioner from the International Ayurvedic Institute. Karen is a visual artist and a Traditional Reiki Teacher, with a focus on energy work within massage. http://www.karensky.com

 

Maria Sullivan, LMT, Instructor

Maria graduated from the Finger Lakes School of massage in 1995. She has a private practice in the Williamson County area, and has been teaching massage therapy for the past seven years. She specializes in Sports Massage, Pre and Post Natal Massage, Infant Massage, and Geriatric Massage.

 

Brian Wingate, BA, LMT, Instructor

Brian graduated from NHI in 2001. He has trained in orthopedic massage with James Waslaski and Connective Tissue Massage with John Latz. His massage practice is grounded in ten years experience with yoga, meditation and mind-body balance. Visit his website at: www.integrativebodywork.org
