About Natural Health Institute

Mission Statement

The Natural Health Institute is established to promote quality education
in the art and science of professional massage/bodywork therapy.

Our educational programs address the broad challenges of the emerging
professional scope of practice for the career oriented massage therapist,
at the student level, and for professional development required for the
practicing massage therapist.

Natural Health Institute serves the massage therapy community at large
through continuing education, therapeutic services, career development
and industry association.

Natural Health Institute is a service of The Natural Health Institute,
LLC, a limited liability company of Jaya Judy Seeley, LMT-C, RYI - Executive
Director & Registrar, and Daniel Seeley, RN, MSN, FNP, CMT - Institutional
Director.

The cornerstone of The NHI is the Tennessee State-authorized Education
Program of Professional Massage and Bodywork Therapy. This course of study
qualifies the graduate for National Certification and Tennessee licensure
to practice professionally.

The NHI facility is located on the main floor of historic Cummins Station
on the corner of Demonbreun and 10th Avenue south in Downtown Nashville,
TN. We are a school of approximately 6,300 square feet, which includes
three large classrooms, a six room intern clinic, a reception area and
a main offices. While teacher-student interaction is the rule, we do have
a TV, VCR, and overhead projector for educational uses.

Toward the goal of quality education, our small classes are lead by licensed
professionals with long clinical practice experience. Whenever possible
they are massage therapists certified to teach in their area of specialty.

We also offer continuing education classes for massage therapists and
bodyworkers as well as services and classes for the personal enrichment
of the lay public.

Authorizing Statement

Natural Health Institute is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education
Commission for the Education Program of Professional Massage and Bodywork
Therapy. This course of study qualifies the graduate for Tennessee licensure
to practice professional massage and bodywork therapy. This authorization
must be renewed each year and is based on an evaluation by minimum standards
concerning quality of education, ethical business practices, health and
safety, and fiscal responsibility.
